Caring for natural pearls

Caring for natural pearls

We believe beautiful jewellery deserves thoughtful care. Natural freshwater pearls are organic, formed in water, layer by layer, and they stay at their most beautiful when treated gently.

The habits that matter

Avoid direct contact with perfumes, lotions, and harsh chemicals. A simple rule many jewellers share: your pearls go on last when dressing, and come off first at the end of the day.

Remove your jewellery before swimming, showering, or exercising, since prolonged moisture and chlorine are the quickest ways to dull a pearl’s natural lustre.

Store the jewellery in the provided soft pouch after use. Pearls are softer than most stones and appreciate a place of their own, away from harder pieces that could scratch their surface.

A note on wear

Pearls are meant to be worn. The warmth of your skin keeps them at their best, so rather than saving them for rare occasions, let them become part of your everyday.

Every Kaanha’s piece arrives in thoughtful packaging with its own soft pouch, so caring for it starts the moment it reaches you.
